A flag whose design is equivalent to the shield in a jacket of biceps and triceps (but usually in a square or rectangular form) is named a banner of hands. Also, a club form little bit of non-cloth advertising materials showing off a name, slogan, or other marketing meaning.
Banner-making can be an ancient craft. Cathedral banners commonly portray the saint to whom the cathedral is dedicated.
The term derives from French expression “banni?re” and overdue Latin bandum, a material out which a flag is manufactured (Latin: banderia, Italian: bandiera, Portuguese: bandeira, Spanish: bandera). The German terms developed the term to mean the official edict or proclamation and since such written purchases often prohibited some type of real human activity, bandum assumed this is of an ban, control, interdict or excommunication. Banns gets the same origin signifying the official proclamation, and get away from methods to change commitment or disobey purchases, semantically “to leave the fabric or flag”.
