A banner can be considered a flag or other little bit of cloth bearing symbolic, custom logo, slogan or other meaning. A flag whose design is equivalent to the shield in a layer of forearms (but usually in a square or rectangular condition) is named a banner of forearms. Also, a pub form little bit of non-cloth advertising materials showing off a name, slogan, or other marketing communication.
Banner-making can be an ancient craft. Chapel banners commonly portray the saint to whom the chapel is dedicated.
The term derives from French expression “banni?re” and past due Latin bandum, a material out which a flag is manufactured (Latin: banderia, Italian: bandiera, Portuguese: bandeira, Spanish: bandera). The German dialect developed the term to mean the official edict or proclamation and since such written purchases often prohibited some type of human being activity, bandum assumed this is of the ban, control, interdict or excommunication. Banns gets the same origin indicating the official proclamation, and forego methods to change commitment or disobey requests, semantically “to leave the fabric or flag”.
