A banner can be considered a flag or other little bit of cloth bearing symbolic, logo design, slogan or other subject matter. A flag whose design is equivalent to the shield in a layer of forearms (but usually in a square or rectangular condition) is named a banner of hands. Also, a club form little bit of non-cloth advertising materials having a name, slogan, or other marketing concept.
Banner-making can be an ancient craft. Chapel banners commonly portray the saint to whom the chapel is dedicated.
The term derives from French expression “banni?re” and later Latin bandum, a material out which a flag is manufactured (Latin: banderia, Italian: bandiera, Portuguese: bandeira, Spanish: bandera). The German dialect developed the term to mean the official edict or proclamation and since such written requests often prohibited some type of real human activity, bandum assumed this is of any ban, control, interdict or excommunication. Banns gets the same origin indicating the official proclamation, and forego methods to change devotion or disobey requests, semantically “to leave the towel or flag”.
