A banner can be considered a flag or other little bit of cloth bearing symbolic, custom logo, slogan or other communication. A flag whose design is equivalent to the shield in a coating of forearms (but usually in a square or rectangular form) is named a banner of biceps and triceps. Also, a pub form little bit of non-cloth advertising materials showing off a name, slogan, or other marketing meaning.
Banner-making can be an ancient craft. Chapel banners commonly portray the saint to whom the cathedral is dedicated.
The term derives from French expression “banni?re” and past due Latin bandum, a towel out which a flag is manufactured (Latin: banderia, Italian: bandiera, Portuguese: bandeira, Spanish: bandera). The German dialect developed the term to mean the official edict or proclamation and since such written requests often prohibited some type of human being activity, bandum assumed this is of the ban, control, interdict or excommunication. Banns gets the same origin signifying the official proclamation, and give up methods to change devotion or disobey requests, semantically “to leave the fabric or flag”.
