A banner can be considered a flag or other little bit of cloth bearing symbolic, brand, slogan or other concept. A flag whose design is equivalent to the shield in a jacket of hands (but usually in a square or rectangular form) is named a banner of forearms. Also, a pub form little bit of non-cloth advertising materials having a name, slogan, or other marketing concept.
Banner-making can be an ancient craft. Chapel banners commonly portray the saint to whom the cathedral is dedicated.
The term derives from French phrase “banni?re” and past due Latin bandum, a towel out which a flag is manufactured (Latin: banderia, Italian: bandiera, Portuguese: bandeira, Spanish: bandera). The German words developed the term to mean the official edict or proclamation and since such written requests often prohibited some type of individual activity, bandum assumed this is of an ban, control, interdict or excommunication. Banns gets the same origin signifying the official proclamation, and forego methods to change commitment or disobey purchases, semantically “to leave the fabric or flag”.
