A banner can be considered a flag or other little bit of cloth bearing symbolic, emblem, slogan or other subject matter. A flag whose design is equivalent to the shield in a cover of hands (but usually in a square or rectangular form) is named a banner of hands. Also, a pub form little bit of non-cloth advertising materials wearing a name, slogan, or other marketing concept.
Banner-making can be an ancient craft. Chapel banners commonly portray the saint to whom the cathedral is dedicated.
The term derives from French expression “banni?re” and overdue Latin bandum, a towel out which a flag is manufactured (Latin: banderia, Italian: bandiera, Portuguese: bandeira, Spanish: bandera). The German terminology developed the term to mean the official edict or proclamation and since such written requests often prohibited some type of individual activity, bandum assumed this is of the ban, control, interdict or excommunication. Banns gets the same origin indicating the official proclamation, and give up methods to change devotion or disobey purchases, semantically “to leave the material or flag”.
