A banner can be considered a flag or other little bit of cloth bearing symbolic, brand, slogan or other subject matter. A flag whose design is equivalent to the shield in a cover of forearms (but usually in a square or rectangular condition) is named a banner of hands. Also, a pub form little bit of non-cloth advertising materials showing off a name, slogan, or other marketing meaning.
Banner-making can be an ancient craft. Cathedral banners commonly portray the saint to whom the cathedral is dedicated.
The term derives from French term “banni?re” and overdue Latin bandum, a towel out which a flag is manufactured (Latin: banderia, Italian: bandiera, Portuguese: bandeira, Spanish: bandera). The German terminology developed the term to mean the official edict or proclamation and since such written purchases often prohibited some type of individual activity, bandum assumed this is of any ban, control, interdict or excommunication. Banns gets the same origin indicating the official proclamation, and reject methods to change devotion or disobey requests, semantically “to leave the fabric or flag”.
