Pretty Neat Book Giveaway from Buttoned Up

pretty neat giveawayHello, I’m Desiree — and I suffer from OPSD: org porn stress disorder.  I get an emotional high off of the smell of container plastic and I can’t walk into an office supply store without wanting to buy everything in sight.  I can’t begin to count how many “paper planners” I’ve bought over the years, but never get past the first month or so of using them.

I can’t say no to anyone for any reason and, even though the reality behind my life is that I am failing in the organization department, people seldom know this about me.

I chase my tail at work, and follow suit at home, too.  I am overwhelmed by indecision and clutter.

Every single day, I am faced with failure because I can’t live up to the standards set by me, society, advertising, and others I admire.

Pretty Neat: The Buttoned-Up Way to Get Organized and Let Go of Perfection is how I’m going to release myself from all that nonsense!  A very quick read, this book offered me simple methods to cut org porn-fueled stress and insisted that perfection isn’t possible–or necessary–in this messy, unpredictable world called life.

This book will help you and me stay one step ahead of the chaos!  Because we all know there aren’t enough hours in the day, Pretty Neat recommends being focused on what really matters and employing one (but ideally two or more) of the following techniques, all of which are explained in full in the book:

  • Incorporate “big picture” planning
  • Ask your to-do list “why?”
  • Measure your progress
  • Plan for the unexpected
  • Schedule “Be You” time

I am releasing myself from my guilt of not achieving perfection today.  Join me!

About Desiree

Hi, I’m Desiree Allen, a thirty-something single parent with two children. A native of Denver, Colorado, I lived there until 2009, when I moved across the country to northern New Jersey with my kids. I am doing my best to avoid ‘picking up’ a Jersey accent, but I’m not making promises that I won’t eventually start sounding like some of my new friends.

I’d say the area would be the kitchen area where everything tends to land on the counter in a huge pile lol. It’s not the greatest system in the world, but it’s “good enough” for me lol..It's definitely stressing me though lol

Thank you for the chance to win!!
