Small and mighty

Graphic button for http://www.projectunderblog.comI want to share with you an exciting new project that I am privileged to be a part of.

Project: UnderBlog is a submission-based collaborative writing project honoring the smaller voices in the blogging community. With five to ten core bloggers to publish, promote, and engage on a monthly basis, this is ultimately a place where most of the content will come from outside submissions. Anyone can send their writings and share their voices and stories without consideration of their blog stats, followers, page ranks, and social media reach.

It isn’t always about “the numbers.”

There are thousands of writers within the blogging community that write with authenticity and, because they may not have the numbers most writing communities want, they may not feel they are being heard. That shouldn’t diminish the value of what they have to say. Project: UnderBlog is a place where bloggers are heard, promoted, and celebrated based on the power of their words and not on the reach of their numbers. It is about celebrating the fierceness of the “underblog,” the small and mighty.

Join us, won’t you?

With all this in mind, we would love to have you consider submitting a blog post to our project. You’ll have the freedom to write whatever moves you (no assigned topics or themes – just powerful words). We will celebrate and promote your words, your passion, and your voice across an audience that doesn’t worry about “the numbers!” If you’re interested in being a part of this new project, please email Neena at projectunderblog@gmail.com.

About Desiree

Hi, I’m Desiree Allen, a thirty-something single parent with two children. A native of Denver, Colorado, I lived there until 2009, when I moved across the country to northern New Jersey with my kids. I am doing my best to avoid ‘picking up’ a Jersey accent, but I’m not making promises that I won’t eventually start sounding like some of my new friends.
